2024 – Nehalem Bay

The campground
Nehalem Bay State Park, 34600 Garey St, Nehalem, OR 97131 (GPS 45.70343, −123.93452). The park sits on a four-mile sand spit between the ocean and Nehalem Bay, among the shore pines, one dune away from the beach — about 23 miles south of Seaside and 85 miles west of Portland.
- Campsites have electricity and water; dump station on site.
- Restrooms with showers.
- 3–4 bars of cell signal, no wi-fi.
- Horseback riding and kayak bay tours available on site (paid).
Cost
Three nights of camping was $137 ($113 for Oregon residents with Oregon RV plates), paid in advance. Because of the state's booking process, the rally committee made all the site reservations.
Extra vehicle: each site fee covers one vehicle; a second vehicle was $7/night paid to the campground on arrival (two vehicles max per site).
Cancellation policy
A $10 fee applied through 7/16/24; an additional $8 fee from 7/17/24 to 9/12/24 unless the site could be rebooked. After 9/12/24 the full fee of $61 (non-resident) or $53 (resident) was due — the $10 cancellation fee, the first night's camping fee ($43 non-resident / $35 resident), and the $8 reservation fee.
What was on
A welcome happy hour the first night, morning coffee and breakfasts, coach open houses, tech talks, wine and chili tastings, a potluck, a raffle, and campfires. The full agenda is here.
